the vegetable and herb expert August 7, 2010 sonic potter1 Excellent. This book was recommended to us. As this is the first time we have grown our fruit and vegetables this contained great info for the beginner and has great pictures to back up the written info. We refer to it constantly.
does exactly what it says on the cover May 28, 2010 S. Allaway (Devon) Easy to read simple to follow always reliable and the advise works.... had to but a new copy since my old one fel apart ( it was 20 years old!)
Title of book is misleading: vegetable guide NOT about herbs May 7, 2010 N. Ahman (UK) 3 out of 4 found this review helpful
The section of this book dealing with growing vegetables is excellent but it is misleading to mention herbs in the title. The section on herbs is thin with just a few useless lines describing the herbs and absolutely no description on how to grow herbs in your garden. The herb section is pathetic to the point where the author does not even seem to know how to use herbs often mentioning 'use this herb sparingly as it has a strong flavour', when in reality some herbs such as basil and coriander can be used in large quantities without being overpowering. If you are interested in advice on growing herbs, then look for another book, don't buy this book.
Vegetable and Herb Expert May 2, 2010 J. Walter A great little book. Very easy to read and follow, some lovely pictures too. I'm just starting to grow my own vegetables and have a few herb pots. This book has been really good for me to keep refering to and has some handy tips.
A mine of information April 12, 2010 Mr. T. Harrington (uk) Excellent book. All the information I have needed so far to do my vege bed has been in the book. plants are growing already.
