Lightweight and fairly good shave, getting into crevices that previous philishaves couldn't. But, downside is that the bits of beard just fall straight through from the cutters. I don't use the nivea coolskin, on my other philishave which took the little sacks, it just gunged things up.

Having reviewed a number of shavers I decided to go for the least "gadgetry" and am very pleased with the result. Although the cheapest of the range this shaver performs very well, is comfortable to use. Its lightweight and effective. I'm not sure what more you get from more expensive models as this one performs very well indeed.

A very well packaged, good looking well built unit and the lotion applicator worked quite well. The lotion certainly offers a more comfortable shave and a quick rinse under the tap is ideal for keeping it in good condition.
Now onto the downside, using this took far too long to have a shave compared to a wet shave. I had to go round and round and back over the same area again and again and after 10 minutes the result was still rather poor. I had to get my wet razor out to do my sideburns and to pick up areas that the electric razor had missed. Despite using the lotion I did have a bit of a rash on my neck because I had to go over the same area so many times.
In conclusion I will stick with a wet razor as the benefits I was looking for in an electric don't exist in my experience with this Philips razor. It took longer, the result was poor, I still got razor rash and then there is the point of remembering to keep it charged (not to mention the hassle of buying a 2 pin adaptor so you can plug into a normal 3 pin socket).
